RESUME OF SOME OF THE BOATS I HAVE WORKED ON
I have worked on all types of
boats - power and sail, as well as many rowing skiffs and
dinghies. I have completed finishes on newly constructed
boats and refinished older boats in varying degrees of
deterioration.

26' Custom Built Steam Boat
“Puffin,” Olympia – Completed a full restoration
of this custom steam boat in 1997. The entire boat was
stripped of old finish, repairs to the woodwork
completed and new finish applied.

Anacortes –
Refinished exterior brightwork.

White, Decatur Island– Refinished exterior bright
work.
41’ Custom Pilot House Sloop, Bob
Perry design named “Loon.”
Built by Steven Brouwer
of Hunter Bay Woodworking, Lopez Island.
Completed all painting
and brightwork on the exterior and interior of the
boat while under construction. Completed the annual
maintenance on interior and exterior brightwork until
boat was sold to new owner.

Power Boat, Bob
Perry design named “Evelena.” Built by Steven
Brouwer of Hunter Bay Woodworking, Lopez Island.
Completed some of the
exterior and interior bright work while boat was under
construction. Completed annual maintenance on the bright
work each year to present.

Rowing Skiff, Lopez Island – Refinished entire boat,
interior, benches and hull and maintenance coats on
bright work each year to present.
14’ Custom
Rowing Skiff, Lopez Island – Refinished entire rowing skiff.
Refinished interior and repainted hull and topside to
prepare for sale.
17’ Chamberlin Design Custom
Sailboat, Lopez Island – Refinished the
interior and repainted the hull and topside on this
Chamberlin design day sail boat to prepare the boat for
sale.
16’ Kootner Day
Sailboat – Built by
“K” Boats in Dundee, New York in the late
1950s. These boats were sailed on the lakes around
upstate New York. The hull is cedar with oak ribs and
plywood frames. The decks are Phillippean mahogany.
Benches are mahogany and the mast is 25-foot Sitka
spruce. Conducted a complete restoration of the boat
in the fall of 2006 and spring 2007.
9’ Ranger Minto Sailing
Dinghy. These boats were originally
produced by Ranger Boats of Kent, WA and were out of
production for a spell. The Minto dinghy has been
revived by Rich Passage Boats and is now being built
in Port Orchard, Washington. This boat is reminiscent
of the Whitehall pulling boats but with more volume
aft. The boat has a lap strake fiberglass hull with
teak gunwales. Completed some minor repairs to the
hull and a complete repaint on the boat in 2008 to
prepare it for sale.
Perry 44’CC Cheoy Lee – This
one mast sail boat was built in Hong Kong in 1984 date.
The port seals had failed and in 2008 the owner had new
ports installed. There had been significant water damage
to the teak plywood and trim. Completed a full
restoration of the interior woodwork in the spring of
2008.

Custom Dory -This
lapstrake traditional style boat was built by Jeremy
Snapp of Upright Channel Boat Works on Lopez Island in
the early 1980’s. The boat has a wood hull with
two rowing stations and a mast for day sailing. The
boat had sat outside, unprotected for many years and
was deteriorating. Complete restoration in the spring
of 2008.
22’ Custom Power
runabout – Paullu
I – This Ed Monk design custom built open harbor
launch is used by the owner to travel from Roche
Harbor, San Juan Island to the owner's home on a
private island off shore. Completed a full restoration
of the paint and bright work in 2006.
45’ Pontoon
Barge – This boat was recently
overhauled (Spring 2008) and custom fitted for the
Island’s Oil Spill Association (IOSA) and is
utilized to carry oil containment boom and oil spill
responders. Completed a full restoration and
repainting of the aluminum cabin. See article and
